Audrey passed away in May 2008.

Audrey was unwell for quite some time but did not let it stop her from doing the things she loved. Many will remember, with pleasure, Audrey's talented performances in the final evening entertainments at Swanwick.

Jill Dick
--------------------------

Jill Dick

Jill Dick was custodian of Swanwick's warchest for many years and a formidable negotiator on behalf of the school.

For many, she was the first point of contact with Swanwick, and was a insightful mentor to those in need of a quiet word.

From her sickbed, earlier this year, she declared an intention of attending Swanwick 2006, but it was not to be.

Her final request was that no flowers be sent on her passing; but instead and if people so wished they could send a donation to the Swanwick Writers Summer School.

Bob Orr
Bob Orr was to have been a course leader at Swanwick 2006 but illness sadly caused him to postpone his visit for another time.

Bob passed away in August 2006, some days after Swanwick ended.

Swanwickers Clifford Beck and Julia Pattison at the bridge on the River Kwai

Sadly, well loved Swanwicker Clifford Beck died in July 2005 after a short illness.

It would have been his 90th birthday on November 11th, an apt date for a war veteran, and ex Japanese POW.

Roy Bratby
--------------------------
Roy Bratby
1920 - 2005

Swanwicker supreme Roy Bratby passed away on 15 May 2005.

In Roy's company you were aware of a quiet man with a soft voice which belied the enormous strength of will he possessed and the compassion for other Far East survivors for whose welfare he constantly fought.
