Ah, it’s Swanwick ... magic
22 june 2007

window birdsThe magic of Swanwick has enchanted writers for nearly 60 years. Often compared to the legend of Brigadoon, the Writers’ Summer School is an unmissable six days (and nights) of learning, laughter, friendship and fun.

Speakers: by popular demand, we are re-introducing a Morning Speaker for 2007 in addition to five sensational Evening Speakers. See here

Courses, Workshops, Talks& Discussion Groups: we have some of the country’s top published authors, screenwriters, poets and journalists among our tutors (not to mention a retired Chief Constable).

Dancing and Entertainement: you can dance the Swanwick nights away … join in with a quiz or two … laugh along with friends … shiver along with ghost stories … or just relax. Whatever you do, don’t miss our last night ‘Laughter Lines’ show. It’s classic Swanwick.

NEW for 2007
In response to member feedback, we are introducing a ‘time out’ initiative at Swanwick. Affectionately known as ‘The 3 Ahs’ (Reading, Writing and Relaxation), it offers you the freedom to …

• catch up with coursework/personal writing projects
• enjoy one of our daily ‘freestyle’ themed workshops
• browse round the Book Room
• join in with Tai Chi on the lawn
… or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the moment.
This is your Swanwick.
Savour the magic.

Tai Chi – the return of an enchanting Swanwick tradition.

For many of our regular members, Tai Chi on the lawns was once as traditional to Swanwick as tea and cakes in the afternoon. In the past few years, the tea and cakes have remained … but, sadly, not the Tai Chi.

Not so in 2007!

We are delighted that our new 3Ah’s sessions will include the graceful art of Tai Chi.

Committee member Andrew Marsh (a Tai Chi student) will be sharing his Tai Chi experiences with you. Those who have done Tai Chi before, come along, join in and enjoy….

Those who haven’t done Tai Chi before, just come along and join in!

Tai Chi is a graceful pastime and a great way to relax and find a little tranquillity in our ever maddening world.
